Hola, I’m Rebecca Flores Harper.

I am a bicultural, multilingual Mexican‑American adoptee who grew up in New Haven. As both student and community member, this city shaped me—and today, I’m honored to live, work, and give back to my community.

For nearly 15 years in education, I’ve taught from Pre‑S to postgraduate levels, coached on the soccer field, and collaborated with families, educators, alums, and community leaders—all with one goal: uplifting children and the collective.

Throughout my career, my work has centered on advancing Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Justice, and Belonging (DEIJBA). For over a decade, I’ve had the privilege of serving as a DEIJBA leader—and now as Director of Equity and Community at Hopkins School in New Haven, CT.

In 2021, I founded AuthenTEACHCity to support educators, organizations, parents, and community members in their DEIJB efforts—to move from theoretical learning to real‑world transformation.
