Embodied Pedagogy Mini-Retreat
Calling all Educators!
Join me Wednesday, August 6 OR August 13 from 9:00 am- 1:00 pm at BLOOM for a rejuvenating and creative mini-retreat centered on reconnecting with our bodies for an empowering school year.
This workshop seeks to provide powerful tools to resist the pervasive weight of burnout in the education field. Inspired by Jessamyn Stanley’s book Yoke: My Yoga of Self-Acceptance, where she writes “Practicing yoga feels like digging an instrument out of myself”; teaching often feels like we bring our insides to class, exposed, raw, unfiltered—where the real learning and depths are found. Come along to form and mold your instrument which will serve as a symbolic reminder and artifact throughout the year for moments when you feel stuck, stranded, or have lost your way.
We will engage in the following together:
Visualization: Guided exercises to foster mental clarity and self-awareness.
Journaling: Prompts and time for personal reflection and self-expression.
Creating: Hands-on activities that encourage imaginative and expressive exploration.
Community Building: Opportunities for shared experiences, discussion, and mutual support among participants.
Food will be provided
You can indicate which day when you register.
